Holland America Line S-Class Ship

Holland America Line R-Class Ship

Holland America Line Vista Class Ship

S-CLASS

The S-Class (also known as the Statendam Class) ships feature an atrium, two-deck main dining room/show lounge, and a Lido pool with retractable roof. In April 2010, spa staterooms, a Mix lounge and a glamorous nightclub venue for world class entertain-ment, the Showroom at Sea, were added.

R-CLASS

Also known as the Rotterdam Class, the R-class consists of four ships. The Amsterdam and the Rotterdam are the co-flagships of Holland America Line and each feature multi-million dollar art collections. Volendam and Zaandam are twin ships and each has their own "theme." Volendam features an abundance of floral artwork and decor. The Zaandam's theme is music and displays guitars signed by Carlos Santana, Queen and others and a saxophone signed by President Bill Clinton.

VISTA CLASS

The four Vista Class ships are named for the points of the compass in Dutch. Noord for north, Zuid for south, Oost for east and West for West. These ships were designed mainly for shorter (less than two weeks) cruises in the Caribbean, Alaska and Europe. These ships are notable because of the great number of oceanview and verandah staterooms. These ships have been upgraded and all now fit into Holland America Line's "Signature of Excellence" standards.
Holland America Line Signature Class Ship

Prinsendam

SIGNATURE CLASS

Holland America's newest and largest ships belong to the Signature Class. The Signature Class ships are essentially enhanced versions of the Vista Class design shown above. The main difference is the addition of a deck between the Lido and Observation decks which equates to more cabins and some new facilities, including the specialty restaurant, Tamarind, and the Silk Den lounge. Both Signature Class ships are of "Signature of Excellence" standards.

THE ELEGANT EXPLORER

The Prinsendam is a unique experience all to herself. The smallest ship in Holland America Line's fleet, the Prinsendam features longer cruises and often visits ports that larger cruise ships are unable to visit. For that reason, she is known as "The Elegant Explorer."

Money Saving Advice when Buying a Holland America Line Cruise

  • Best advice we can give: the earlier you book, the better. Prices for early bookers tend to be lower, and, the best cabins on Holland America Line ships book first.
  • We show all discounts. When you search for cruises on our site, we will ask questions that will qualify you for the best available rate – are you over 55, active or retired military, past passenger (Mariner Society) with Holland America Line, etc.
  • If you are flying to your cruise departure port, buy your air separately from your cruise. You will almost certainly find a better deal versus buying your air ticket with your cruise.
  • Never pay a service fee to book a cruise. There are web sites who will charge $24.99 to book a cruise with them. We can book you the same cruise for the same price, and, we do not charge service fees.
